It's been so long...

...Since I have posted here. I have a facebook page and spend a lot of time there, updating, reading, playing games.

Just the other day, I had a dream about Sabrina... that she ran up to me and sat right at my feet and looked straight up at me... She used to do that when she was being playful. It is the first time that I truly felt her presence.

Last fall, Rena took her ashes and spread them at the park. Sabrina LOVED the park and it was a special time between the two of them.

Life is interesting. A few turns in the road but hopefully the road will straighten here for a while and give me a break!!

Work continues to be busy in this economy and housing market. I like being busy so I don't mind.

Until later...

A Summer without Sabrina

Well, the summer has just flown by!! My summer has been a summer of a lot of adjustments with many bouts of lonliness. It took about 2 months before a I got used to a "new routine" - not having the plan my day around Sabrina, picking her up, letting her out, worring about her constantly!!!!

Have you ever read "Over the Rainbow Bridge"? Well that poem has given me a lot of comfort and a LOT of sadness! If you haven't read it, google it - but get the kleenex box out first!!!

My Beloved Sabrina...

It's been a really hard week. I have been scanning pictures and have a few to share. There are so many memories it's hard to narrow them down so over the next few months, I will share the Story of Sabrina.

It's interesting to me that I don't remember a lot of her youth, except through pictures, because I have grown old with her, it's hard not to remember her as she over the last couple of years.

Thank you all for emailing me with your thoughts. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

Kohl's

Well, I have news. I finally quit Kohl's! I loved working there and it wasn't until I actually quit, did I truly realize the toll it was/is taking on me. My last day is March 12. I am VERY VERY excited.

My day job is going to continue to be very busy as the foreclosure market is not going to get any better until 2009. Since I want to keep my day job, giving up Kohls is the right thing to do.

Until later...

Happy New Year!!!

Well, 2008 is off to a bang!

The dogs, Daunte, Carter and Sabrina are making our heart rate go up! It started in December with Carter who had a lump on his leg. From the surface, it looked like a mast cell tumor (the "c" word). His vet, Jodi, wanted him in to do an immediate surgery. We are happy to note it's not cancer and he is on the mend. He had to wear a bandage for about 10 days and it was very interesting watching Lyn try to keep his sore covered while he kept taking the bandage off!!!

Then on Christmas Morning, I was out with Sabrina while she was doing her business and noticed blood in the snow!!! My heart went to China and I called the vet. During his Christmas morning, Dr. Dave called me back and we talked about my options for the day. I watched her all day until the next morning and brought her to the vets office. It turns out Sabrina has/had a urinary tract infection! She has been on antibiotics now for about 2 and a half weeks with about 7 days to go. Hopefully the infection will be all gone when I bring the next "sample" in for checking. Sabrina does not like the antibiotic she is taking and since she doesn't like it squished and in her food, I have had to give the pill to her by placing it on her tongue and making sure she swallows. That has been a joke! First of all, I have never given her any pills that way and since I am no expert at it Lyn usually is the one to give Sabrina her medicine. Sabrina hates it so much, Lyn is getting the evil eye! I can't wait til it's over!!!

And just this past weekend, when Sabrina and I came home from doing errands, Daunte started really crying out as if he was in intense pain. There is always so much commotion when we come home (three dogs greeting each other) that I just thought Sabrina stepped on him, took his toy away - things like that. Since they don't speak English (we have enrolled all three dogs in English Language Classes!!), we had no idea what happened. Later on that day, he did it again so off to the ER Vet we went. Everything checked out fine - but his adrenaline was really going that it was hard to determine if he was in pain. After going through Sunday with little improvement, Lyn called her vet and we brought Daunte in on Monday. We found out he has a slipped disc in his back and he was in a lot of pain. He is on meds now with strick instructions to keep him quite for 2 weeks or we may have to do surgery.

Keeping Daunte and Carter "quite" is proving to be a very hard task and at times, funny to watch us figure this out. Lyn and I are determined because we really don't want him to go into surgery.

Since things come in "three's" we are all over for the year and hopefully by February, our little family will be all healthy! (yea right!)

Stay tuned for more updates...
Happy New Year!!!

The Move...

Well, I am all moved in and the move itself went very well. It took less than 2.5 hours! The move itself went very well. I got all settled that first weekend and now its just getting my computer space all situated.

Sabrina is adjusting to living Carter and Duante! We think Duante has a crush on Sabrina! He sits and stares at her - it's so cute. Carter is the "old soul" of the two of them - he just sits back and watches everything!

I also have great news about the storage containers!!! I got the 72 containers down to 30!!! I am so proud of myself. It occurred to me that all these years I just moved my 'accumulation' from place to place and never just got rid of things... plus I am a 'collector' and have a few things I collect!

Well it's the holiday season and in the retail world it gets really busy. I took a lot of time off this summer at Kohl's and at the end of October I will go back to working my regular schedule.

I will blog soon!
